A commitment to our mission . . .
T-Square Education’s Mission is to inspire the next generation of theatre-goers using our exceptional theatre productions and educational offerings as a catalyst for academic growth, social development, and cultural awareness.
What we have been up to . . .
It is an exciting time for education at Theatre in the Square! After an approximately two year hiatus, we are moving forward by leaps and bounds. Our newest full-time staff member Education Director, Susan Reid, joined Theatre in the Square in October of 2010. She came to the theatre with over fifteen years of experience in education and more than a decade of work with Theatre in the Square as both an educator and a director of plays.
Our three winter/spring class offerings filled to near capacity with close to sixty students enrolling for our youth, teen, and even adult classes. Our Square One series show, The Little Foxes brought in local area high school students to see the classic work by Lillian Hellman. A full six weeks of camp programs are slated for the summer. We have well surpassed our total goal of thirty students with forty-five enrolled for the summer camps. We are remounting the hit The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs! this fall, and we aim to increase our attendance, adding both shows and weeks to the run. We have begun an aggressive marketing campaign aimed at contacting teachers directly. We want to reach as many elementary age students as possible.
What is in store for Young Audiences . . .
Every fall the Theatre performs a children's theatre production geared especially for elementary audiences. This year's production was developed from the charming book by John Scieszka and Lane Smith is The True Story of The 3 Little Pigs! We welcome school field trips during the week and invite the entire family to attend on the weekend.
