Ken Yunker

Mr. Yunker is the resident lighting designer for The Atlanta Opera, Sarasota Opera Association and is a principal designer for the Tony award winning Alliance Theatre Company. A native Northwesterner, he’s surprised and pleased to consider the Southeast home for over 20 years. Beginning his professional career at the Lyric Opera of Chicago, he has more than 500 designs for opera, ballet and theatre to his credit in states all over the U.S. In Atlanta you’ve also seen his work at Georgia Shakespeare, Theatre in the Square, Theatrical Outfit, Theatre Emory, Georgia Ensemble, True Colors, The Black Arts Festival, Six Flags Over Georgia, Ballethnic Dance Company, Gwinnett Ballet, International Ballet Rotaru, Georgia State University, Clayton State University and the University of Georgia. Mr. Yunker has been a nominee for the Atlanta Abbey Awards “Artist of the Year” and has been featured in Creative Loafing and AJC,“Best of Atlanta.
