Playwright: Adapted from Aeschylus by Ellen McLaughlin
About the performance
The battle left the sea scarlet and sands crimson at Salamis, where a greatly outnumbered Greek army repulsed the mighty Persians. This oldest surviving play in Western literature relates the aftermath from the point of view of the defeated. A stunning new adaptation of the 2,500-year-old classic about events that turned the tide of Western history.
