About the performance
THE BELLE OF AMHERST is the acclaimed work based on the life of Emily Dickinson, America’s greatest female poet. This brilliantly conceived one-character show traces her reclusive life from the dreamy, hopeful teenage years until she died at the age of 56. A single actor vividly recreates those around her who influenced her work as well as her controversial personal life.
