MainStage Series: Stealing Dixie
MainStage - August 4, 2010 - September 12, 2010

Playwright: Phillip DePoy
Director: Jessica Phelps West

About the performance

A gripping portrayal of the Great Locomotive Chase, featuring Andrews’ Raiders, a band of Union soldiers and sympathizers, who pulled off a daring scheme to steal The General, a Confederate locomotive. DePoy’s script is a moving portrait of the power of war, featuring Civil War era music. The raiders reviewed their plan in what is now known as the Kennesaw House, a stone’s throw from Theatre in the Square. A world premiere. Recommended for age 16 and up.
